HUNTINGTON PARK, CA – Longtime Huntington Park community leader Jhonny Pineda announced his campaign for Huntington Park City Council today. Pineda will run in the upcoming election set for March 2015.

“I’m running for Huntington Park City Council to create new opportunities and help improve the quality of life for the students and hardworking families. The city needs a new direction and we need to support small businesses to attract good paying jobs for our residents,” said Pineda. “Our city deserves a leader with the ability to bring our community together and work towards common sense solutions to the challenges Huntington Park faces.”

Pineda comes from humble beginnings growing up as a child farm worker. Pineda has worked in local, state and the federal government and currently serves as a Legislative Aide in the United States House of Representatives. Pineda is also a Richard Polanco Fellow and served Huntington Park as its Planning and Park Commissioner.

A 15 year resident of Huntington Park, Pineda earned a Masters Degree in Business Management from the University of Redlands after graduating with a Bachelors Degree in Public Administration from California State University, San Bernardino.
